    About the FIA

Known as one of the most iconic global events in the world of aviation, the Air Show takes place in England every two years during July. This year's occurred July 19 - 25 and officials expected a turnout of about 500,000 people.

The weekend following the trade days is open to the public for exhibitions and flying displays. The Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) pavilion drew particular interest.

The goal of this year's FIA was to evolve the business theme into something a little more social, including a number of new networking programs for customers, presenters and aircraft metal suppliers alike. These initiatives included conferences, seminars and a "Meet Your Buyer" event for suppliers. There was also a day dedicated to the International Futures for Youth organization.

    Snappy Materials' Experience

St. Thomas explained that the 2010 FIA added a "warmer dimension" for suppliers and buyers. Instead of the usual telephone and email interactions, vendors and their clients were able to develop a more personal relationship at the "Meet Your Buyer" event.

New visitors, including members of the general public during the public weekend, learned more about the company's aircraft material inventory, which includes aircraft metals such as aluminum and titanium. They also learned about Snappy Materials' value-added services that help to reduce manufacturers' production cycle times and improve their bottom lines.

The air displays and exhibitions were exciting for representatives of Snappy Materials, their clients and the public. The week was filled with tarmac displays, flights and demos. Many were impressed by the arrival of Boeing's highly anticipated new 787, the "Dreamliner." Other debuts included the Airbus Military A400M "Grizzly" cargo transport. The return of the Airbus A380 as well as the Red Arrows spectacular aerial performance still remain great crowd pleasers.
